The Missing Piece in Healing: Why Our Minds Matter Just as Much as Our Bodies

ree

Over 25 years ago, my journey into holistic health began with a simple but life altering question:

“Why are so many people around me getting cancer?”

At the time, it was mostly my family. One diagnosis after another. It felt relentless, and terrifying. I couldn’t help but wonder if there was more going on than we were being told. Could cancer, and other chronic illnesses, really be just down to luck or genetics?

That question changed the course of my life.

I made a decision that day:

I was going to find out what we could do to prevent illness, and more importantly, how I could help others not just survive, but truly heal.

Nutrition Was My Starting Point

I began with what seemed like the obvious place: the body. Food, toxins, water quality, environmental stressors, it all made sense. And to this day, nutrition is still a foundational pillar of health.

But over time, in both my personal journey and my work with clients, it became clear that physical health alone isn’t enough.

Because some people were doing everything right, and still not healing.

And that’s when I found the missing piece: the mind and emotional body.

How Trauma, Stress & Beliefs Impact the Body

We often forget that the body isn’t just a machine, it’s a living, breathing, feeling organism that remembers everything.

The childhood trauma you never processed.

The years of stress you thought you’d just “pushed through”.

The unspoken grief and emotional pain.

The belief systems you absorbed, about safety, worth, illness, or failure.

These don’t just affect your mental health, they affect your cells, your immune system, and your body’s ability to heal.

Epigenetics: The Science of Emotional Influence on Genes

This is where epigenetics comes in, a powerful field of science that shows how our genes are not our destiny. They are influenced by our environment, not just physically, but emotionally and energetically too.

Stress, fear, trauma, and emotional suppression can literally “switch on” genes linked to disease and inflammation.

Conversely, healing, safety, love, and emotional release can activate genes linked to repair, resilience, and recovery.

Your body isn’t betraying you, it’s responding to what it’s lived through.

This Is the Work I Do

Through Clinical Hypnotherapy, RTT, and Reiki, I support clients in accessing the root of what’s been stored in the body, emotionally, mentally, and energetically.

Together, we work to:

  • Uncover old belief systems that are keeping the body in survival mode

  • Gently release stored trauma or emotional patterns

  • Rewire the subconscious mind to support healing

  • Create safety in the nervous system so the body can finally rest and repair

This is where true healing begins, when the mind, body, and spirit are treated as one.

True Healing Is Holistic

Healing isn’t just about managing symptoms or ticking boxes, it’s about asking the deeper questions:

  • What has your body been trying to communicate?

  • What emotional patterns are still unprocessed?

  • What needs to be felt, released, or forgiven?

  • And how can we create an inner environment where healing is truly possible?

When you support all layers of yourself, physical, emotional, mental, and energetic, your body can begin to shift in extraordinary ways.
